Eugene Louis Farless' Obituary
Eugene Louis Farless (Gene) passed away on November 9, 2018. He was 85 years old. Born on June 27, 1933 in Lefors, Texas to Roy and Velma Farless.Gene lived in Texas until the age of nine, when in 1942 the family moved to Pawnee, Oklahoma. Gene graduated from Pawnee High School in 1951 and attended Oklahoma A&M College before entering the Army. He served two years as a Paratrooper in the 11th and 82nd Airborne Divisions. In 1956 after being discharged from the Army, he moved to Tulsa. He was employed by Texaco Inc., holding various clerical positions for 16 years. Gene married Wanda December 7, 1963. In 1971 Gene was transferred to Houston, Texas where he worked as a Production Analyst until 1979 when he was transferred back to Tulsa. In total he worked for Texaco for 39 years, retiring in 1995.Gene and Wanda returned to the Tulsa area in 1999, living in Broken Arrow, where they continued to enjoy life, family and church activities. Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Velma; wife of 53 years, Wanda; brother Leroy (Bud) and sister Dora. He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Jones and husband Lynn of Tulsa, OK, Cathy Bush and husband Larry of Shreveport, LA, Shelly Borne and husband Henry of Pierre Part, LA, son Kevin Farless and wife Rebecca of Austin, TX; sister Mary Carnley of Hominy, OK; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Services will be held November 13th at 1pm at Arrow Heights Baptist Church with interment in Floral Haven Memory Gardens.
