Eugene Owen Sturge's Obituary
Eugene Owen Sturge, a resident of Tulsa, passed away on December 2, 2021, at the age of 94. He was born September 27, 1927, in Great Neck, New York. Eugene, or Gene as most everyone called him, was an extremely bright and outgoing individual. He lived through the Great Depression and served in World War II in the Army Signal Corps. During his time in the Army, he was an assistant Chaplain. After the war, he worked as a commercial artist in New York City and then worked at American Airlines where he retired after 37 years. Gene could fix or make almost anything, and always tried to make life easier for others with his talents. He created Sigma Crest Ltd. In the 1980s to help companies with computers and other electronic challenges. He was an active member of Eastland Hills Christian Church, serving in multiple capacities.
He went to be with his Lord on December 2nd, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Helen Sturge, Sister Natalie Sparrow of New York, Brother Glen of Delaware, and his wife of 53 years, Shirley. He is survived by sons Gregory of Tulsa and Dwayne of Round Lake Beach, IL.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
