Eula Louise Gilbert's Obituary
Eula “Louise” Gilbert was born May 20, 1932 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to LaVeda and Rosco Price. The family moved to Hammon, Oklahoma in 1937. She married Edd on December 20, 1952 and settled in to become a housewife and mother. She was a homemaker and loved sewing and sewed clothes for family and friends. She liked to paint by numbers and did this very well along with crocheting too. Every summer she spent many hours canning vegetables from the garden that Edd planted while living in Hammon, Oklahoma. She was also known for giving hair perms to various family members and friends. She also taught Vacation Bible School at Hammon First Baptist Church for many years and always came up with bible games for the kids to play. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Survivors include two children: Dan Gilbert of Tulsa, Oklahoma and LeonNa Gilbert of Fayetteville, Arkansas; 1 sister, Beatrice Barker of Bakersfield, California and 1 brother, JE Price of Norfolk, Nebraska. Graveside services for Eula “Louise” Gilbert will be conducted at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
