Eva Mae Dusenberg Eva Dusenberg was born to parents Victor and Vera Hanick in Kansas City, MO on March 29, 1938. She departed from this life on September 12, 2011 as a result of lung and brain cancer. Eva graduated from Parkville, MO H.S. in 1956 and attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO where she studied art education. She married Lyle Dusenberg in 1959 which resulted in a loving and long term partnership for both. Eva was a perpetual volunteer, helping as an assistant teacher to grade school art students in school districts wherever she lived while raising her two children. Living in Tulsa for 40 years, she volunteered at Parent & Child Center and the Laura Dester Children's Shelter. Eva loved helping young children in need and they in turn returned that love. She worked for Dr. Robert Alyea as an optometrist's assistant and office manager in the Woodland Hills Shopping Center, retiring in 1995. Organizations where she was active included The Shadow Mountain Ladies Association, the Park Plaza South Women's Social Group and the T-Town Questers. She was a very active person, not afraid to tackle any job around the house including furniture restoration, painting, pool cleaning and yard work. Her love of the beaches on the Florida gulf coast and annual visits ere looked forward to each fall and she was a sales person for that area by way of recommendation to her friends and neighbors. Eva is survived by her husband, Lyle Dusenberg, her son Dennis and his daughter Katie of Tulsa, her daughter Lauren Vanfossan, husband Douglas and their children Samantha, Lyle Thomas and Alexander of Excelsior Springs, MO. She also leaves behind her two brothers and their wives Victor and Linda Hanick of Estes Park, CO and John and Jan Hanick of Pawley's Island, SC as well as her sister in law Joan Dusenberg Bradshaw and her husband Robert Bradshaw of Boonville, MO. As per her wishes, Eva's remains will be cremated and no formal funeral services are planned. At some future point, her family will gather in South Florida for a memorial service. Eva would wish to extend a special thanks to all of her friend and neighbors who gave their kindness and friendship to the family during her battle with cancer.
