I always looked forward to seeing Evie, Irv, and Terry when they came to town, at the old house on Farnham street where Evie grew up in the 1930's with her mom Lenora and dad Gottfried. It must have been a very different time then, for so many reasons. But most of all, that house would have been full of so much love and energy with all those kids around. God bless and godspeed Evie. May we all meet again someday, at that great family reunion in the sky.
Sorry to hear of Aunt Evie's passing. She was the final member of that generation of the Weier family. As cousin Karen and sister Becky responded – Evie was such a joy. And that beautiful blond hair! Remember several long car trips as a kid from Wisconsin to Tulsa to visit them, and especially that last one when I got to drive my Mom and Dad down for what was in reality their last face-to-face visit with Irvine and Evie. Such fond memories.
I also have fond memories of Irvine and Evie plus Terry coming up to visit my mom & dad in Cuba City. I loved how Irvine would always tease Evie and she had the most contagious laugh to go along with him. She was a super wife and mother. Like Karen said she had this Oklahoma accent even though she was a Midwestern. I am now thankful that she is with Irvine and Terry plus my parents and Gary and all the other Weier family.
Aunt Evie was always very special to me. As a little girl, I always thought of her as a pretty southern belle. She had a soft southern accent and was always so pretty. I am happy that she will now be reunited with Irvine and Terry. Maybe she'll be able to visit with Mom, too. They were good friends. They used to visit over the phone from time to time, so that after Mom passed away, I tried to fill some of that void. Rest in Peace Aunt Evie. Karen Weier Fries
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I so loved Evelyn as she was a very kind and accepting and loving lady. My grandma (Helen Weier) loved Evie so much and they remained close like sisters their entire lives. My thoughts and prayers are forever with you!
Am thankful that my daughter Linda and I were able to visit Evie and Terry before he passed away, that same year. The memories from that day and the stories Terry told of some of his activities growing up, are treasures to have. Now Evie is reunited with Bob and Terry and I picture them smiling and there's probably a lot of joking going on with the rest of the relatives with them.Corrine Abegglen, Sister-in-law
