Evelyn Jewell Wiles' Obituary
Evelyn Jewell Wiles, 93 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, January 17, 2021 in a Tulsa hospital. She was born April 12, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to her parents, Merrill Charles Barto and Minnie Katherine Phillips Barto.
A Will Rogers High School, Class of ’45 member, Evelyn started working in a downtown ice cream shop and later in retail. She helped the MDA and March of Dimes and was a school PTA president as well as a hard working band parent. Evelyn was a devoted wife and wonderful mother. She was also a caring neighbor, and friend to many. Evelyn was a member of Woodland Christian Church.
Evelyn is survived by three sons, Russ Roach and his wife Cheryl of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Steve Wiles and his wife Linda of Muskogee, Oklahoma and John Wiles and his wife Glenna of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Ryan Roach of Round Rock, Texas and Amanda Sutton and her husband Robert of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her caregiver, Barbara Barto of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Minnie Barto; her husband, James Wiles; her son, Dennis Roach; and three siblings, Lillian Brenny, Charles Barto, and Lois Kendrick.
Evelyn will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, James Merle Wiles and her precious boy, Dennis Roach. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the garden of Sermon on the Mount.
