Everett Cleo Poindexter's Obituary
Everett Cleo Poindexter, a resident of Tulsa, passed away July 7, 2018 at the age of 79. He was born January 9, 1939 to William Ben Poindexter and Laura Viola (McQuirk) Poindexter in Hulbert, Oklahoma. Everett enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. He was always working with heavy equipment of some sort and loved nothing more than to trade and swap for equipment and tools. His career was primarily as a machinist with side businesses involving heavy equipment and dirt work. Everett loved to dance, could tell endless stories and had seen just about every western movie ever made. In his younger days, he rode motorcycles. He and his wife JoAnn used to take the paddle boat out on the pond in Preston. Everett truly loved spending time with family and always looked forward to a large family get together.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Laura Poindexter and granddaughter, Kelli Hasting.Survivors include his loving wife, JoAnn Poindexter, Tulsa; son, Everett Poindexter and wife Bobbie of Broken Arrow; daughter, Tammy Davis and husband Greg of Bixby; daughter, Tonie Poindexter-Pacheco of Pryor; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers the family request memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the charity of choice.Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday,July 14, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brandon McCombs officiating.
