Evert Leon Gibson, 95 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, November 18, 2019 at St. Simeon Nursing Home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on March 30, 1924 in Summerfield, Oklahoma to his parents, John S. Gibson and Sadie Curtis Gibson. He married the love of his life, Loretta McAlester on September 20, 1949 in Crawford County, Arkansas and they have shared in over 70 beautiful years together.Evert served in the United States Army during WWII and served over 30 years as a Tulsa Fireman.Evert is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Gibson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sons, Leon Gibson of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Larry Gibson and his wife Paula of Wagoner, Oklahoma; one grandson, Gerad Gibson and his wife Brook of Jenks, Oklahoma; and three great-granddaughters, Alexis, Hailey and Rachel Gibson. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sadie Gibson and all of his siblings.Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Lacey officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard and Fireman’s honors will be provided by the Tulsa Fire Department Honor Guard.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church, 714 N. Harvard Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74115.
