Fannie Jo Carpenter CannonFannie Jo Carpenter Cannon, 83, died peacefully on December 24th, 2013 surrounded by family in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born in Cameron, Oklahoma on September 13th, 1930 to Sherman and Florence Carpenter. She had nine brothers and sisters. Fannie graduated from Cameron High School in 1949. On December 14th, 1951, she married Mance Wilson Cannon. They had three children. Fannie was a resident of Broken Arrow since 1966. She attended First United Methodist Church of Broken Arrow, and was a member of the Mr. & Mrs. Sunday School Class. She had her dream job working with children as secretary at Central Middle School in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma for 23 years. She enjoyed making beautiful crafts and clothing, and selling them in local craft shows. Fannie had a great sense of humor, full of laugher, always quick to forgive, had a great ability to make others feel loved. She was especially fond of children, encouraging and loving. She had a quick wit, smart and had an enduring faith in God. She loved to travel, play sports, watch sports and throw parties for her family. She was lovely, inside and out, and a true friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman Carpenter and Florence Williams Carpenter Dobbins. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Mance Wilson Cannon, eldest son, Larry Cannon (wife Robyn) of Tulsa, daughter Lori Burns (husband Dave) of Broken Arrow, son Phillip Cannon (wife Tilchen) of Oklahoma City, four grandchildren, Andrea Cannon Hobbs (husband Matt) of Broken Arrow, Whitney Cannon of Tulsa, Colton Cannon of Oklahoma City and Brendan Cannon of Oklahoma City, two great grandchildren, Emma Hinson and Stephen Morgan, of Broken Arrow. Fannie is also survived by two sisters, Margie Ewing of Topeka, Kansas and Betty Hignite of Claremore, Oklahoma, and one brother Jimmy Carpenter (wife Colleene) of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and many extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Visitation will be 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at Floral Haven on Thursday, January 2nd, 2014, family will be present from 6 to 8 pm. Internment will be Friday, 2 pm, January 3rd, 2014 at Floral Haven cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow at 2 pm on Saturday, January 4th, 2014.
