Florence (Wilson) Burcham passed from this life on Sept 9, 2017. She was born February 27, 1923, to Mack and Cora Belle (Dilbeck) Wilson in Spiro, Oklahoma. Florence was a twin, the youngest of 8 children, and the only girl.Florence married H.Gene Burcham right out of High School, and was married 47 years before Gene passed away.She was a hard worker all of her life. She worked at Skelly Oil and North American Rockwell, and in her 50’s decided to go to college to get her degree in nursing. She commuted to Norman weekly for two years completing classes. Graduating in 1978 from Oklahoma University, she then worked as a registered nurse at St. Francis, and later at St. John’s hospital where she was promoted to a floor supervisor in a surgical dressing department.She was meticulous in everything she did.She loved sweets, and made great deserts.Florence and Gene were some of the earliest members at the Crowell Heights Baptist Church in Tulsa, and remained active there for many years. She enjoyed helping at Church and served in the food pantry and benevolent ministries while there. She was a student of the Bible, and participated in many Bible studies.Florence later married, Leonard Hinton, who also preceded her in death.She moved to Colorado in 2013 to be closer to her family.Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene Burcham, a son, Carl Mac Burcham, and seven brothers.Florence is survived by her son, Joe Burcham and wife Teresa of Broomfield, Colorado; Two granddaughters: Melissa Wiederspan and husband Casey, of Windsor Co. and Lindsey Witter and husband Benjamin, of Littleton, Co.
