Frances Elizabeth "Neel" Jaynes' Obituary
Frances Elizabeth Jaynes passed away peacefully, March 11, 2013 in Tulsa, OK. Born in Lewistown, MT to Mary and Jesse Neel, she was the youngest of three children. At age 8 her family moved to Macon, MO where she grew up and graduated from Macon High School. Frances was 24 when she moved to Alameda, CA where she met the love of her life, Chalmer Jaynes and the two were married Feb 18,1947. Frances and Chalmer moved to Kansas City where Chalmer was employed by Skelly Oil Co. Frances and Chalmer raised two sons, Scott and Steve, in Prairie Village, KS and were married 54 years. She was a dedicated homemaker, devoted wife and professional mother and she remained a wonderful and faithful friend to all who knew her. Frances often commented that “her retirement pins were her two boys”. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother, and her husband, Chalmer. She is survived by her sons Scott Jaynes (Connie), Steve Jaynes (Diane); grandchildren Jeff Jaynes (Adriane), Stephanie Mathis (Dustin), Alexander Jaynes; and great grandchildren Scarlet Mathis and Benjamin Jaynes. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Jaynes Family Scholarship at Kansas State University P.O. Box 33161, Tulsa, OK 74153.
