Frances Wright's Obituary
On April 26, 2020, God called home Frances Marie Stewart Wright, age 95 of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Frances was born June 7, 1924, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and spent most her life in the Tulsa area. In 2018 she moved to Tahlequah and then in 2019 to her loving daughter Dot’s home in Hulbert.
Frances married her husband, Leroy Wright, on June 11, 1952. Throughout their married 47-plus years, she and Leroy worked in the food industry eventually and successfully opening several small mom-and-pop type restaurants. In 1986, Frances and Leroy retired from the restaurant business in Tulsa to help for a while their daughter, Dot and son-in-law, Ray Mabe with the opening of The Smoke Stack BBQ Restaurant on Fort Gibson Lake..
Frances worshipped at Tulsa Springdale Church of Christ in the 1950s and ‘60s. When her children were grown, she and Leroy spent many years worshipping at the Garnett Road Church of Christ. She continued her life on earth as a true Child of God and endeavored to always reflect her Lord and Savior. She leaves a legacy of Godliness, love, patience, sacrifice, humor, fun, and comfort.
Though very petite in stature, Frances was very big in spirit and love. She loved having family come to visit and gather where she showed her great love for them by preparing and serving delicious food and playing fun games. She was very proud of all her children and grandchildren and the next generations after them. Fishing, camping, traveling the U.S., meeting new people and visiting with friends were activities she enjoyed all her life. Kind and gentle of heart and bold in personality, Frances was embraced and loved by all her family and friends.
Frances was predeceased by her husband, Leroy Wright (May 20, 1920—May 1, 2000), her father, Reid T. Stewart (Aug. 24, 1900—Nov. 29, 1976), her mother, Ruby Fay Anderson Stewart (Feb. 5, 1902—Nov. 11, 1926), She was also predeceased by her beloved son, Charles Reid Lewis (Oct. 26, 1944—Apr. 25, 2008).
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Jeannette (Jeanne) Lewis Kiewel and Dorothy (Dot) Wright Mabe. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Kevin Lewis, Lisa Turley Walker, Michael Turley, DaLona Kiewel, Karen Kiewel Moore, Nathan Mabe and Rachel Mabe.
. She leaves a lifetime of love to her seventeen Great Grandchildren and extends her legacy of her and God’s
love to an ever-growing number of Great-Great Grandchildren and beyond.
