Francis "Frank" Bryan Reeder's Obituary
Francis (Frank) Bryan Reeder went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2016. He was 91. Frank spent World War II in the Pacific theater as a member of the US Navy and his working years at American Airlines making sure the airline’s planes were safe for flight. A dedicated employee and proud veteran, Frank viewed his greatest work in life as helping build Victory Christian Center into one of the largest churches in Tulsa. Frank was one of the founding board members of Victory, and served in a variety of positions at the church including youth minister, care pastor, director of the missions school and director of Camp Victory. He was also instrumental in the creation of the Tulsa Dream Center.Although he was proud of everything he did with Victory, his passion was for youth. His favorite job with the church was heading up the advance team for Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty for missions in Russia, Sierra Leone, Turkey, Albania, Haiti, and Bulgaria.Frank is preceded in death by his first wife, Ora Nell Maxey Reeder; parents, Anna Lucille Weil Reeder and William Jennings Bryan Reeder; brothers, Jim Reeder, John Reeder, Ed Reeder and sister, Helen Reeder Briggs.He is survived by his wife, Fay Reeder; son, Frank Reeder, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Verdigris, OK; daughter Maxanna Lucas and her husband Don of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Mary Mitchell of Sanibel Island, FL; step-son, Steven Moore of San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.Frank also leaves a legacy of numerous people on whom he had a positive influence throughout his life as an “adopted” father and grandfather, including Voni Harting.Viewing will be held from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, with the family receiving visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Floral Haven Visitation Suites, 6500 South 129th East Avenue in Broken Arrow.A celebration of Frank’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 16 at 12:30 pm at the chapel at Floral Haven, 6500 South 129th East Avenue in Broken Arrow.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Frank’s favorite cause, The Tulsa Dream Center www.tulsadreamcenter.org.
