Frank Wayne Gravette, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away in Grove, OK, on June 18, 2023, at the age of 92. Frank leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and profound love for his family and community.
Frank, born on June 3, 1931, in Centerton, AR, was the son of the late Addie and Keet Gravette and a direct descendant of E.T. Gravette, the founder of Gravette, AR. Frank was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Cheryl, as well as his brothers Bert, Jack, and his sisters Betty Scott, Donna Kisilitchak, and Christine Crouse, whose memory he held dear.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Frances Gravette. Left to cherish his memory are his former spouse, Sylvia Gravette of Claremore, OK, and their children Cindy Logsdon (Larry - deceased) of Claremore, OK, and Mitchell Gravette (Lori) of Tulsa, OK, along with Frances' daughter, Donna Kitchens (Tom) of Lawrence, KS. Frank also leaves behind his beloved sister Diana Parrick (Kenneth) of Gravette, AR.
His grandchildren, Jason and his wife Mary Gravette, Kailee Gravette, and Staci Gravette, as well as his great-grandchildren Connor and Parker Gravette, were a source of immense joy and pride in Frank's life, as were his nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he loved dearly.
A veteran of the Navy, Frank proudly served his country from 1950-1954 in the Korean War aboard the USS Gardiners Bay, embodying the principles of honor, duty, and patriotism. His service to his country and fellow servicemen will forever be remembered.
Known for his kindness and honesty, Frank was a pillar of his community. For over 40 years, he owned and operated Gravette Service Company in Tulsa, OK. Frank's dedication to his work and his commitment to providing exceptional service to his customers earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. In addition to his passion for service, Frank had a zest for life and enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing, dancing, listening to music, and visiting the casino.
Frank Wayne Gravette will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, and a doting grandfather. His presence in the lives of those he loved was immeasurable, and his memory will forever be cherished. As we bid farewell to Frank, we find solace in the knowledge that his legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
