Frank Boyce LeBleu's Obituary
Frank Boyce LeBleu, 96, died on Sunday, May 1, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Frank, son of Frank Walker LeBleu and Laura Elizabeth (Busby) LeBleu was born on June 19, 1914 in Kenedy, Texas. He worked for Hall Industries, a chain of movie theaters in south Texas, as a projectionist and in advertising. Later, he worked on a geophysical crew in Texas. Frank married Beatrice Jones on June 11, 1941. They were together 65 years until her death in 2006. In 1944, Frank joined the Army Signal Corps and trained at Camp Crowder in Joplin, Missouri and also in northern California. He served in the CBI (China, Burma, India) theater hauling transmitters over the Burma Road. After his discharge in 1946 he was employed by Southern Alkali (later PPG) at their Corpus Christi, Texas plant where he worked as a sign painter until his retirement in 1978. Frank and Bea resided in Ingleside, Texas for over 60 years until moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2004. After retirement, Frank became a locally recognized artist who specialized in Texas hill country scenes. He also had a lifelong interest in photography and in airplanes of all types. He and Bea were longtime volunteers at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, contributing to many exhibits that are still on display. Frank is survived by son, Robin LeBleu (wife Betsy) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Marissa Gilbert (husband John) of Huntersville, North Carolina and Elizabeth LeBleu-Daniello (husband Jason) of Asheville, North Carolina, great-granchildren, Sam and Cassie Gilbert and Gus Daniello. He was preceeded in death by brothers Thomas J. (TJ) LeBleu, Glen C. LeBleu, Frank L. (Luke) LeBleu and sister Grace (LeBleu) Newell. Frank was loved and will be missed by family and friends.
