Fred was a sweetheart. He would often stop by my office for a visit and always cheered me up. Once, when two of my co-workers and I went to a nearby restaurant in Overton Square for lunch, we noticed Fred with some of his co-workers and we waved to them. When it was time to leave, we summoned our waitress to ask for the check and she said that it was “taken care of.” We knew it was Fred as he was a gentleman above all and very intelligent in his field of knowledge. I miss our visits even though we spoke on the phone about once a year after we both “retired” from Buckman. He was always interested in me and what was going on in my life and I was also interested in his. He will be sorely missed. I am truly sorry for your loss. It is our loss as well.
