Frederick Allen SmithFrederick Allen Smith, 77, departed this world peacefully on February 12, 2015 at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Fred was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 8, 1937. He attended Central High School, the University of Tulsa, and University of Arkansas. He earned a Baccalaureate and Juris Doctorate from TU. Upon graduation, Fred worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He then returned to Tulsa to practice with the law firm of SANDERS & MCELROY. Fred moved to Truth or Consequences New Mexico and continued his legal career there for many years. Upon retirement from the law, Fred was a businessman, novelist and traveler. Fred, always an adventurer, possessed a sharp intellect and a wry sense of humor and was a great story teller. He wrote (3) three novels documenting his colorful life and (2) two have been published. Deep sea fishing was his passion and he often told tall tales of his excursions to the Pacific coast of Mexico. Fred is survived by his lifelong best friend, Marilyn Smith, a daughter Angela Smith-Tilot, a grandson Robbie Humpert, a sister, Sarah Addington and nephews, Ethan Lindsey MD and Edward G. Lindsey and nieces, Tammy Kirk and Katherine Christian and many great nephews and great nieces. Fred was predeceased in life by his father, Glen Smith Sr., mother Sarah Smith-Pallisard older brother, Glen Smith Jr. and many aunts and uncles. A private family memorial service will be held at St John’s Episcopal Church on Monday, February 16, 2015. Fred will be interned in the Pacific Ocean where he spent his favorite times “chasing the big ones”. Private family services to be held.
