Freida Roberts' Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce that Freida Roberts passed away March 17, 2024 in
Tulsa, Oklahoma after suffering a severe brain injury after a devastating fall.
Freida was born August 25, 1939 to Garvin and Velma Jackson in Red Bay, Alabama. After
graduating high school in 1957, she moved to Illinois. In 1959 she met Richard “Dick” Roberts,
whom she wed in 1961. They had 3 daughters, Deanna and Pamela (twins) in 1968
and Dawn in 1971.
Through Dick’s work, the family moved to Connecticut in 1976. She worked as a homemaker,
and later went on and obtained her realtor license and worked as a realtor. She and Dick
purchased Stewart Electric Company in 1984 and this brought the family to Oklahoma where
they have resided until their deaths. During her time in Oklahoma, she spent her time working at
the family business as a bookkeeper and office manager. After retirement in 2000, she spent the
next 20 plus years spending time with her family and friends. She was very involved in her
church and was a longstanding member of Tuesday’s Grace, a woman’s faith-based church
outreach group. Tuesday’s Grace was a very integral part of her life.
She also enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and sewing. She spent endless hours working in
her gardens and landscaping her yard. She loved this. She also was quite the seamstress and
actually made wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses for her girls. She especially loved
spending time with her family and her 19 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Holidays
included the entire family at her home. Many great memories were made of sledding on the golf
course, painting Easter eggs, Easter egg hunts, carving pumpkins and making Christmas
cookies. Those who knew Freida knew her heart was huge and full of love and that family and
friends were everything she cherished.
She is predeceased by her husband, Richard Roberts, father Garvin, mother Velma, sisters
Ouida, Peggy and brother Bobbie. She is survived by daughters Deanna Saldivar (Jesse),
Pamela Woodward (Brett), Dawn Tarin (Tony). Grandchildren: Paige Sackett, Craig (Abby)
Sackett, Collin (Jaycee) Woodward, Breanna Woodward, Jakob Tarin, Taylor Woodward,
Maddie (Tim) Fleet, Brody Tarin, Lance Saldivar (Alex), Natalee Saldivar, Braxton Saldivar.
Great grandchildren: Cole Fleet, Payson Wycliffe, Landon Ashley, Nakota Saldivar,
Hagan Sackett and Sadie, her grand dog.
