Gary L. Curry, 77, of Mounds, OK passed away unexpectedly March, 4, 2023 at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, OK. He was born October 12, 1945 in Sapulpa, OK, the son of James Paul Curry and (Betty) Orvetta Jean Curry.
Gary graduated from Saybrook Arrowsmith High School, class of 1963.
After high school, he went to work with his father traveling all across the country running their own painting business. He eventually met and married his beautiful wife, Phyllis Curry. They celebrated 44 wonderful years of marriage together. He enjoyed playing golf and was even the founding father of The Heartland Golf Tour. He had a passion for horse racing. He owned and trained many prize winning race horses as well. He was an avid hunter and all around lover of nature. From hunting deer, calling in geese/ducks, tracking wild boar and raising cattle…the outdoors was his happy place. He was a family man as well who loved with his whole heart. He also loved his Oklahoma Sooners. He bled crimson and cream. #BOOMER
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 3 brothers, James Curry, Richard Curry and Robert Curry. Also a sister, Jean Curry. A granddaughter, Braelyn Nicole Jean Lemmel. Surviving in addition to his wife, Phyllis Curry, are his son Kenneth Curry and wife Trina Curry of Tulsa, OK, son Paul Curry of Clinton, IL, daughter Brenda Seago and husband Roger Seago of Mounds, OK, daughter Kathy Dodson of Tulsa, OK.; six grandchildren, Austin, Carson, Jerrod, Drew, Amanda, Kati, Sydni and 12 precious great grandchildren.
