Gary Dean Hunt's Obituary
Gary Dean Hunt was born on January 8, 1966 in Tulsa, OK to Lee and Lois Hunt. He died on May 14, 2022 while working in his garden.
Gary’s parents pre-deceased him. He is survived by his wife Lanna Hunt, the love of his life for 31 years; his stepson Charlie and his beloved dog Murphy.
Gary was blessed with a large and loving family. He will be missed by his 2 sisters , Leslie (Jeff) Davey, Ruthie (Mike) Ross, and 2 brothers, David Hunt, Stuart (Laurie) Hunt, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
Gary was employed by Fellers for 25+ years. He was a respected and valued member of the team who loved working with his co-workers and customers.
Gary loved to explore the outdoors - hiking or walking his dog, riding his mountain bike, fishing from his kayak or with his friends and riding his stand up paddle board. He and Lanna often planned get aways to state parks to celebrate special occasions.
Gary was an avid gardener, supported local farmers’ markets and family farms and enjoyed canning and cooking all that he grew. Gary loved all types of food and never passed a food truck he wouldn’t sample.
Gary was an accomplished musician and began a lifelong love of music at an early age. He played trumpet in the East Central High School marching band. He mastered the guitar and spent many long and happy hours with band mates and friends performing at local Tulsa venues and festivals. Some of Gary’s bands included Broke Brothers, The Enigmatics, Trouble Comin’ and Creeler.
Gary’s family request that in lieu of flowers you consider a tax deductible donation to Horton Records, www.hortonrecords.org, or the musical charity of your choice. Gary would be so pleased if you would support the many talented musicians and local venues that Tulsa has to offer.
Play on, Gary.
