Gary B. Neely's Obituary
Gary B. Neely was born in August 1945 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He attended Mounds High School and earned a Bachelor of Science / Business Administration at Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
He was married to his wife, Deborah Neely, for 40 years. He had two sons, Derrick and Brent and a daughter Nicole. Being a loving husband and a loving Dad and teaching his children about life was always his number one focus. Watching his children grow up to be adults was one of the proudest moments of his life. He loved his grandchildren, Ashley, Emma, Lauren, Cade and Presley and always tried to give them hugs and slobber kisses or tickle them whenever they were around. He loved the Lord and his family more than life itself. Gary would never miss an opportunity to be a witness for the Lord to his children, grandchildren or a stranger. If you were a Christian and a male, he would call you his Brother.
Gary was a salesman and retired for Procter and Gamble after 25 years. He won many salesmanship awards including The Procter & Gamble’s “Pharmaceuticals Pacesetter’s Award” and the Procter & Gamble’s Target Team Mass Merchandiser “Silver Ring Award”. He was always finding new creative ways to introduce his products to his customers.
Gary loved to fish and loved to read. He also loved it when it would rain. He would raise the garage door, sit in the garage and listen and watch it rain. He always said it was a peaceful time and a reminder of how thankful he was for all the blessings God has given him through his life.
Gary had a million sayings that he told over and over again. His favorite past time was watching college football. He was an avid OU football fan and when football season finally rolled around, he would always sing, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” BOOMER!
Acts 2:38, “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’” (ESV)
Ephesians 4:30, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” (ESV).
Graveside services will be held May 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Floral Haven. Services are private to close family and friends. In honor of Gary, donations can be made to the Gideons International (SendTheWord.org) or to Vietnam Veterans of America (vva.org).
