Gary LaDell Reeves' Obituary
Gary LaDell Reeves passed away at home on November 22, 2020 at the age of 90. He overcame many health issues in the last years of his life and still kept a cheerful spirit. Gary was born in Clarkton, MIssouri on March 6, 1930 to Clarence and Cona Reeves. He was the last surviving of their eight children.
After being raised in a small town and in St. Louis, he played minor league baseball in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, served two years in the military, and met his wife, Betty Jean Ferguson in St. Louis. They raised their four children in Tulsa where he attended the University of Tulsa. He worked for American Airlines for 35 years and made many lifelong friends there. Gary enjoyed being active- Little League baseball coach, American Airlines Grey Ghosts softball team, tennis, and Senior Olympics. Gary and Betty retired to Claremore where they enjoyed life in the country.
Gary is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty, his three daughters- Nancy, Carol, Susan, son Jack and he was “PaPa” to his grandchildren- Jeffery, Brett, Kendall, and Garrett. He was a beloved uncle, a sweet, kind, witty, gentle, polite and charming man. He liked everyone and everyone liked him.
We wish to thank Transitions LifeCare hospice and all who helped in his final years. There will be a celebration of his life later in 2021.
