Her steady presence and loving hands were well known throughout the hospital, and she retired with the deep respect and affection of her colleagues.
In her life beyond her work, Gay Don treasured her friendships—especially her beloved Sequoyah group in Tahlequah, formed during her school days and cherished for a lifetime. The bond she shared with them was a testament to loyalty and joy that spanned the years.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brenda Lackey, and her grandchildren: Chase Lackey, Oberegona Sweeney, Ricky Sweeney, and Katie Sweeney. Her legacy also lives on in a host of other dear family members and friends who were blessed by her kindness, her wisdom, and her quiet joy.
