Gayla and I were childhood friends because my mother Frankie Lou and Lois Tiger were close friends. We were the same age. I think Gayla simply put up with me! As did her sister, Joy. Maybe friend is too strong a word! Maybe pest is more like it! As a kid I pestered Gayla and Joy. The Tigers were always nice to me. Dean Tiger once had a bodyshop and my dad Jim, a wannabe gunsmith, liked to take me there while he hung out and talked deer hunting with Dean - a bow hunter. Years later, Dean patched up my car good as new for a fair price. I have fond memories of the Tigers. It is no surprise to me that Gayla is remembered so fondly by so many. She was well loved. May she rest in peace.
