Gaylan Paul Willard's Obituary
Gaylan Paul Willard was born in Talihina, Oklahoma and lived in the Krebs, McAlister area as a child. He was an army brat and moved to his dad’s different duty stations. He graduated from Jenks High School. He attended college and then he joined the military. After airline duty, he served in the reserves. He worked at the Veteran Administration as a benefits counselor from 1991 to 2013 in the Muskogee Regional Office in Muskogee, Oklahoma. His hobbies were motorcycling, gardening, football, his pets, working on cars, car shows, the outdoors and nature. He loved Native American art, and had a collection of American eagles. He had a wonderful smile and a kind nature. He was preceded in death by his father Carl L. Willard, his maternal grandmother Addie Wallen of McAlister, Oklahoma, his maternal grandfather Lemuel Cornelius of Oneida, Wisconsin. He is survived by his great-uncle Walter Cornelius of Seymour, Wisconsin, his mother Carole Willard of Jenks, Oklahoma, his sister Nancy Thompson and Chris Thompson of Jenks, Oklahoma and children Olivia Flores, Matthew Flores, and Nathan Cook; his sister Marcia Bergen and Richard Bergen, and son Bobby Bergen of Vermont; his aunt Billie Lee of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and special friend Gayle Larson of Muskogee, Oklahoma; and many cousins. Visitation will be Monday, December 8th from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday, December 9th from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, OK. Graveside service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 10th, Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK.
