I am just now learning of Mike's passing. I became acquainted with him when he was retained as Counsel for a company i worked for in the 1970s. We also became personal friends, often having lunch together and taking off to Ft Gibson lake to fish using my boat. There we did more talking and sharing USAF stories, legal discussion and family than we did catching fish but we both enjoyed it. Mike was a trusted friend who when asked his opinion on some life issue, he would tell you what he really thought, not necessarily what you wanted to hear. My sympathies to his family. I knew Gene only as a name on the internet. I saw right away that the man had a clear, sharp mind that could see many level of any political or social debate. I never saw him lose his patience and resort to angry, personal retorts in any of the discussions. He was truly a gentleman and a scholar. I will miss him.
I was sorry to hear of Mike's death and I send my sympathy to his family. I worked for him as his secretary from the early 1980's until his retirement from private practice. I enjoyed the legal experience I received working for him. May God bless all his family.
