Genevieve Slagle's Obituary
On Thursday, March 2nd, 2023, Genevieve Slagle, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, passed away at the age of 90.
Genevieve was born on September 10, 1932 in Kittaning, PA to Anthony and Annina Preteroti. On September 15, 1952, she married Richard Slagle. In 1971 the two of them went on to get their GED while raising four children. They had three daughters Toni, Carmilla and Terri along with one son Merrell.
She was an accomplished homemaker who always made a homey comfortable place for everyone to gather. Her passions were cooking, baking, murder mysteries and puzzles. The head of her family was a spot she held with great affection and love. In marriage, she brought out the best in her husband while he brought out the best in her. After the passing of her best friend/husband of 66 years, she continued their passion about what was truly important in her life, that her family embraced the love of the Lord.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband Richard. Her parents Anthony and Annina Preteroti. Her siblings: Rose Abate and James Preteroti. Daughter in law Vicki Slagle. Grandson Merrell Slagle Jr. Grandson in law Joseph Klein Great Grandson Tanner Slagle.
She is survived by siblings: Josephine Davis and Pete (Billy) Preteroti.
Children: Toni and Gary Hileman, Carmilla Russell, Terri Ramos and Merrell Slagle.
Grandchildren: Casy Martin, Patience and Michael Boles, David and Nicole Harris, Larry and Megan Hileman, Jeremy and Amanda Slagle, Jeremiah and Megan Harris, Laura Hileman, Adam and Mary Bechtold, Anina Russell and Sarah Klein
Great Grandchildren: Jesse Martin, Cecilia and Mason Beene, Lillie and Matthew Stevens, Caleb Martin, Jason Hileman, Taylor Scott, Mackenzie Bechtold, Haylea Slagle, Samantha Martin, Alana Hileman, Emory Platt, Ava Slagle, Katarina Harris, Van Slagle, Alana Harris, Elijah Harris, Eleni Hileman, Morgan Bechtold, Caden Harris, Kellie Harris, David (Ryan) Harris.
Great Great Grandchildren: Willow Beene, Aaliyah Stevens and Marleigh Martin
A viewing will be available Monday March 6, 2023 from 5-7 PM and Tuesday March 7, 2023 from 5-7 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Her celebration of life will be held on Wednesday March 8, 2023 from 12 to 2 PMat the Floral Haven Family Center.
