Genie was so very special to me and the many animals living here at the sanctuary. She cared about us and supported us from day one. We shared a love of animals. She was giving, caring, beautiful and funny. My thoughts and prayers go out to her entire family. May peace and comfort surround you all during this difficult time. I will miss her funny messages and her cooking. Everywhere I look I see something that Genie sent to me. Rest easy dear lady. "She is not gone, she is just away."

I remember the first time I met Genie. It was many years ago at a company party at a coworkers house. There were no seats left so when she came in she plunked herself right down on the floor next to my chair and started talking. I loved her honesty and instantly knew I liked her. I always think of her when I hear a Pat Benatar song and always will. Our condolences to Joe, her children and family. She was a beautiful person and Dan and I are lucky to have known her.
