George D Moreton's Obituary
George Dillard Moreton, 75, of Broken Arrow, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in South Ft. Smith, AR on April 6, 1936 to Morris 'Emery' and Hester (Neal) Moreton. George was married to Geraldine Hood on December 21, 1954. They moved to Broken Arrow in 1962. George worked in the auto parts business for over 40 years and was retired. He was in the Air Force Reserves and was involved with the Boy Scouts and the Lion's Club. In later years, he became interested in metal detecting. George is survived by his wife of 57 years. He is also survived by three sons: Anthony and his wife Denise, of Broken Arrow; Gary and his wife Summer, of Tulsa; and Greg and his wife Jennifer, of Broken Arrow. George is survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Hester Moreton, sister and brother-in-law, Joan and James Sterling of California; and brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Susie Moreton of New York. George is preceded in death by his father. Viewing is Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Floral Haven from 10-9. Visitation with the family is from 6:30 to 8:30. Services celebrating George's life will also be at Floral Haven Chapel on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 12:30 with reception following.
