To my wonderful co-worker and friend, George, and his beautiful wife and family:I first met George when I began working in the Purchasing Department at Hilti in the mid-1980s. He was a terrific guy to work with, and one of the fun things I remember is that he would often have lunch at Rosie's Rib Joint. Rosie's had one of those little candy machines that would freely distribute these delicious little mints, and George would always return to work with his suit coat pockets full of these candies. He would then quickly place the mints in a jar in his office so they were readily available to everyone in the department!Back in those days, I was a young, single parent of three and George often publicly bemoaned the fact that I had no mate. One afternoon in June 1989, he came up to my desk following a luncheon interview and boldly announced, "Mariesa, I think we've finally found a husband for you. I just interviewed this guy and we're gonna hire him and he's single!" What a hoot, right?! As it turns out, in addition to all the other amazing, lovable traits that made George the man he was, he was also, indeed, a prophet! It took quite awhile for George's prophecy to be fulfilled, but on July 4th, 1996, Bill and I were married. I'm including with this tribute a picture of our jovial George and his lovely wife, Nancy, taken during the reception on our wedding day.I am so grateful to have known George, to know that he has been part of my life in very important ways, and to have these incredible memories of him. May our Lord bless the family with many more wonderful memories of who George was to and for them and wrap each of them tightly in His arms, giving loving comfort in the ways that only He knows how to give.Much love and blessing to all who will miss George Rick!
