George Hobson Robertson's Obituary
George Hobson Robertson Jr, age 70, passed away peacefully on November 20th at Aberdeen Memory Care in Tulsa, OK surrounded by his family. George was born March 5th, 1948, in Atlanta, Georgia to George and Carmalette Robertson. He was raised in a military family and lived all over, but spent most of his primary years in Austin, TX. George was an exemplary athlete, participating in football, baseball, basketball and track. He attended Texas Tech University where he pledged Delta Tau Delta. He rose to be the president of the fraternity his senior year and remained close to many of his fraternity brothers throughout his life. George traveled the world before he met the love of his life, Deborah Ann McCorkell. George and Deborah were wed May 27th, 1987 in Dallas, TX. Shortly after, the two moved to Tulsa, OK where they raised their 3 daughters, Felicia, Shannon, and Erin. George had a long and successful career in sales/marketing. George served his church, First United Methodist, faithfully for over 25 years. He taught sunday school as well as leading a men’s bible study every Friday morning. George was a loyal and faithful friend and was commonly referred to as the “gentle giant”. He will be remembered for his generous heart and kind spirit. George H. Robertson Jr is survived by his devoted wife Deborah, his three daughters Felicia, Shannon, and Erin, his 4 grandchildren Adalyn, MacKenzie, Hunter, and Josephine, and his sister Suzanne Vrbas. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Carmalette Robertson. The visitation will be held Friday November 23rd 5-8pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home – 6500 S 129th East Ave, Broken Arrow, OK. The memorial service will be held Saturday November 24th at 11:30am at First United Methodist – 1115 S Boulder Ave, Tulsa, OK.
