George William Weatherford's Obituary
George William “Will” Weatherford, 21, passed away on Thursday morning, May 31st, 2018 at his home in Lexington, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 at South Tulsa Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK. A light dinner/reception will follow.Floral Haven in Broken Arrow is in care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Will Weatherford Memorial Scholarship Fund. Mail donations can be sent to Center Schools in care of Katrina Ruggles at 550 S Sylvester, Center, CO 81125.Will was born on January 24th, 1997 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to William Greg Weatherford and Julie Ann Weatherford. Will attended school in Monte Vista Colorado and Center Colorado where he is remembered for his friendly infectiously happy personality.Will was a scout with the Boy Scouts of America for many years. While he did not attain the rank of Eagle Scout, he loved hiking, camping, and being with his fellow scouters. Will graduated valedictorian from Center High School. He loved to lift weights, play football, and excelled in wrestling. Will attended the youth group at Living Waters Church in Alamosa, CO from high school to college. He went on to attend Adams State University in Alamosa, CO. Will was pursuing a degree in chemistry and a minor in theater. He attended only one year before being diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma while on summer break. Will cherished all the friends he made at Adams State. He continued to be an avid weightlifter and nutritionist who brought happiness and progress to everyone in his life.Will is survived by his Shannon Kay Weatherford and mother Julie Ann Weatherford of Tulsa, OK; his father William Greg Weatherford of Lexington, OK; his grandmothers Sharon Kay Sweetman of Lexington, OK and Jackie Jo Wightman of Tulsa, OK; and his grandparents George and Ruby Weatherford of Russellville, AR.Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, June 4th, Floral Haven Funeral Home.Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 5th, South Tulsa Baptist Church.
