Gerald "Doug" Corley's Obituary
Gerald Douglas “Doug” Corley was born on December 12, 1939 in Sample, Kentucky to his parents, Eldred and Annie Mae Corley. He was the 9th and the last child born out of 8 other siblings. He attended school at Breckinridge County High School after which he joined the Air Force. Doug served with the Air Force for 21 years and retired as a Tech Sergeant. After his retirement, he continued serving with the VFW to honor fallen brethren. Doug married the love of his life, Susie Mae Mattingly, on August 19, 1961 in Louisville, Kentucky. He cherished his wife and his children (including grandchildren) all of which he considered to be the most important things in his life. Doug loved to collect coins, play on his guitar, and work on crossword puzzles. His family is going to miss his dry sense of humor and stubborn behavior. Doug is survived by his wife, Susie, his 3 sons, Charles, Daryl, and Kevin, his 2 daughters, Tina and Donna, his 4 grandsons, Gary, Randy, John, and Danny, his granddaughter, Rebecah, his granddaughter in law, Sarah, and his great granddaughter Mileena.
