Gerald Allen Rapson's Obituary
Gerald Allen Rapson, a devoted family man and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, passed away on June 10, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on May 25, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, to parents, Carl Henry Rapson and Ella Rose (Poirier).
Gerald was a man of strong faith, finding solace and guidance in his religious beliefs. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and found great comfort in his spiritual community. Gerald exemplified the values of his faith, demonstrating love, compassion, and selflessness throughout his life.
As a family man, Gerald was unwavering in his commitment to his loved ones. He cared deeply for his wife, Greta, who faced health challenges until her passing in 2017. Gerald's dedication and unwavering support during her difficult times were a testament to his character and the strength of their bond.
Professionally, Gerald worked as an inventory control clerk, showcasing his meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills. He took pride in his work and was known for his reliability and professionalism.
In his leisure time, Gerald was an active and energetic individual. He had a passion for running and enthusiastically participated in the Tulsa triathlon, pushing himself to achieve personal goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, he enjoyed playing tennis and golf, finding joy in the camaraderie and friendly competition these sports provided. He enjoyed a good chess game, and took pleasure in teaching the game to his grandchildren.
Gerald Allen Rapson is survived by his three sons Tony Rapson, Carl Rapson and Rocky Rapson, and his three daughters, Regina Osterhoudt, Jacki Short and Charlotte Capps, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.
A visitation to honor Gerald's life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A graveside service will take place on June 17, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, where loved ones will gather to pay their final respects and bid farewell to a remarkable man.
