Gerald "Tom" Thomas Cross' Obituary
Gerald “Tom” Thomas Cross, 76; born February 10, 1938, in Bevier, Missouri, passed away March 14, 2014, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Tom was one of eleven children born to Clinton V. and Mary Frances (Tuttle) Cross. Tom attended Bevier High School in Bevier, Missouri. After high school Tom proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and served part of his time stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Tom met and married Elda Rae Reed in Bevier, Missouri in 1958. The couple was happily married for 56 years and, together raised two children: Chester “Chet” Cross and Connie (Cross) Demoret. Tom would later become District Manager at Hobart Corporation, where he retired after 33 years. Tom was a proud member of The Basenji Club of America; President of the Indian Nations Basenji Club and member of Broken Arrow Good Samaritans Club. When Tom wasn’t working he enjoyed traveling either by land or sea. Tom will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Tom is survived by his wife: Elda Rae Cross; son: Chester “Chet” and his wife, Shari Cross, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter: Connie (Cross) and her husband, Phillip Demoret, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Erika and her husband, Austin Green, Desirae Webb and Cameron Cross; brothers and sisters: Don Cross of Colorado Springs, Colorado, William “Bill” and his wife, Joyce Cross of Punta Gorda, Florida, Joann and her husband, John Phillips of Geneva, Illinois, Linda Farmer of Moberly, Missouri, John Cross of Kingman, Arizona, and Dave Cross of Kansas City, Missouri. Tom is preceded in passing by his parents Clinton V. and Mary Frances (Tuttle) Cross; sister: Jean (Cross) McCarroll; brothers: Roy F. Cross, Vernie Cross, and Steve Cross.
