Gerald Timothy Langley's Obituary
Gerald T. “Pete” Langley, 86, of Broken Arrow, died on Monday, December 12, 2016. Funeral services will be held 10:00am on Friday, December 16, 2016, at First United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow, with burial to follow at Elm Cemetery in Leach, Oklahoma.Pete was born On January 31, 1930, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, the fourth of eight children, to William and Mary Helen (Grider) Langley. He was part of the graduating class of 1949 from Siloam Springs, Arkansas. After graduation he then joined the Air Force and served until 1954. Pete was stationed in Japan during the Korean conflict; as of discharge he had attained rank of Staff Sergeant. At this time he met Arlene Dawson, the love of his life for 61 years. They married in 1955. Pete worked for 10 years in the aircraft industry, he retired in 1994 after 25 years with Mobile International, he retired as Vice President of Cost Accounting.Pete loved collecting things from stamps and rocks to cast-die airplanes. He could fix or build just about anything he set his mind to accomplish. He also enjoyed going to the shooting range or walking around the gun shows when in the area. He loved vacationing in Colorado with his family. Later in life, he had great joy from his little dogs.Pete is survived by his wife, Arlene, sons Glenn and his wife Debbie, of Broken Arrow, Steve and his wife Laura, of Skiatook, and daughter Margaret Lester and her husband Eddie, of Fort Worth; grandchildren Billy Larsen and wife Andrea, Erin Williams and husband Chris, Elliot Lester, Peter Lester, Dustin Langley; and great-grandson Jackson Williams; brothers Dean, Mike and his wife Carol, along with many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Wilma and Christine, brothers Rex, Gene, and Dale.
