Gerry Wayne French's Obituary
Gerry was born in Lake Providence, Louisiana on May 24, 1950, and passed from this world into the arms of his savior on September 11, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cal and Sybil French, brother Mel French and sister-in-law Alice French, and numerous other cherished loved ones with whom he is now rejoicing. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann French, his daughter Lisa French Claxton and husband Jeff, granddaughters Cameron Claxton and Avery Claxton, daughter Janet French Faulk and husband Airen, grandson Leighton Faulk, and granddaughter Kelsey Faulk, his sister Carole French Vicuna and husband Frank, brother Jackie French and wife Pat, brother Jimmie French and wife Diane, and sister Vicki French Pippens and husband Johnny, along with many beloved nieces and nephews and cousins.
Gerry married the love of his life on April 24, 1973. They spent most of their life in Monroe, Louisiana. In 2004 he and his family relocated to Tulsa/ Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. His daughters married Oklahoma men, four Oklahoma grandchildren were born, and so Oklahoma is where they stayed. Gerry and Ann enjoyed traveling and got to take some wonderful trips together, including many to Hawaii, and one of their last was to Scotland and Ireland with sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Frank. They also enjoyed many other trips with all his brothers and sisters.
Gerry loved being involved in the lives of his precious daughters and their families. They were so blessed to get to spend time with their grands when they were babies all the way into their adult lives, witnessing their baptisms and other cherished moments. Their greatest joy in retirement years involved family get togethers with their daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. They actively participated in everything their grands did which included soccer, tennis, basketball, cheer, lacrosse, and many school and church programs.
Gerry was loved and cherished by all his family. His sense of humor and personality have created memories that will be shared for generations. He will live in our hearts forever.
