Gian Duc Nguyen's Obituary
Mr. Gian Duc Nguyen was born on September 1, 1938, in Cam Pha, Quang Ninh, a northern province of Vietnam, to his parents, Vy Duc Nguyen and Van Thi Nguyen.
On May 20, 1954, at the age of 15, Mr. Gian and his family embarked on a journey from North Vietnam to South Vietnam, arriving in Saigon on June 13, 1954. In this new home, they worked tirelessly to build a brighter future together. His parents placed great value on education so, while rebuilding their lives in Saigon, they established Van Hoa Private School. Mr. Gian and his siblings later became teachers at Van Hoa and spent many years educating the youth in Vietnam. In March of 1987, Mr. Gian continued his journey by immigrating to the United States, where he would call home for the rest of his life.
For many years after immigrating, he devoted his skills as a machinist at FW Murphy in Tulsa until his well-deserved retirement in 2002. Mr. Gian lived a life filled with rich experiences and cherished moments, and he peacefully departed this world on November 3, 2023.
Mr. Gian loved to travel, especially within his home country of Vietnam, enjoying its beautiful landscape and the many wonderful Vietnamese dishes. He has a fascination with technology, always staying updated on the latest developments in electronics. He was a true people person, always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to newcomers to the US. His outgoing nature and desire to serve endeared him to many.
Mr. Gian will always hold a special place in the hearts of those that survive him: Hong Nguyen Stumpff and her husband Erik John Stumpff, Tuyet Nguyen Cahill and her husband Timothy Lawrence Cahill, Phuong Nguyen Pitzer and her husband Eric Lee Pitzer, Trinh Nguyen Furbee and her husband Carl Furbee, and Phuong Anh Thi Nguyen.
