Ginger McCarty's Obituary
Ginger Rene Martin (McCarty), passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of January 6th, 2023. Ginger was born in Oklahoma City on January 26th, 1970. Ginger is survived by her husband Ken McCarty, mother Rene Bledsoe, her brothers Bill Whitman and Steve Glen, nieces Keri Rowback and Tracie Glenn, nephews Brendan and A.J. Whitman. Growing up, Ginger resided in many different locations until with her mother and brother Steve, moved to Cleveland Oklahoma. Ginger graduated from Cleveland High School in 1988, she was an outstanding athlete participating in Softball, Basketball, and Track & Field. Ginger excelled at the Diskette. Ginger was 3 times state champion where she landed a Track Scholarship from Oklahoma State University. Ginger was invited to join the 1992 Olympic team in Barcelona. In 2016 Ginger was inducted into the Cleveland High School Athletic Hall of Fame and was the first Female in Cleveland History to receive this coveted Award.
Ginger received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Phoenix, then proceeded to attain a Master of Business Administration again from The University of Phoenix in 2016, and in again received her second Master of Science Information Technology degree in March of 2021. In addition, Ginger graduated with High Honors, was twice inducted in Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business.
Ginger was a dog lover and only after a week, she recued Hank a border collie mix how she and Hank experienced several road trips together sharing amazing adventures together. Hank passed in 2018 leaving her heartbroken. She soon after rescued Grady, and Maggie her children. Even though ginger never had kids of her own she became “Gigi” to Tobias McCarty her would be grandson or partner in crime.
Ginger was always there for her family and friends giving anything she had to help them out. For that she will be loved and missed by many. Ginger married late in life to Kenny McCarty. They loved a lifetime in the 10 years they spent together the last as husband and wife.
