Glen R. Birdsong, Jr., 69Glen “Butch” Rafel Birdsong Jr., 69, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away, Sunday, March 15, 2015 at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:30 pm, Friday, March 20 at the Floral Haven Chapel, 6500 South 129th East Avenue, Broken Arrow, OK., 74012. Retired Reverend Margaret North will be officiating. A private burial will precede Memorial Service at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow. A celebration of life reception will follow the Memorial service at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, 400 W New Orleans St, Broken Arrow, OK. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School. In High school he was an athlete that excelled at football and wrestling. He entered the Army (Green Berets) after a stint at Oklahoma University. He enjoyed cooking, playing Bridge, antiquing and model trains prior to his passing. He was known to participate in a Scottish dancing group in his earlier days. He also loved to investigate his genealogical heritage and was an avid reader.Glen is survived by his wife Susan Birdsong (Brown)and two daughters, Theresa “Missy” LeFlore and her husband Rodger of Jenks, OK, Tabitha Skaggs and her husband Danny “Boone” of Glenpool, OK, step daughter Heather Long; two grandchildren, Caleb and Lance Burklin, his step Mother Laura Birdsong, step sister Laura Ward and step brother Harold Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Sr. and Doris, and his late wife Mary Birdsong (Swenson) in 2001. Funeral service to be held Friday, March 20th, 2015-12:30 p.m.-Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
