Glenda Elaine Goodwin's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glenda Elaine Goodwin, a beloved
wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend to many. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, June
9th, surrounded by her loving family.
Glenda was the embodiment of kindness, loyalty, and sweetness, leaving an indelible mark on
everyone she met. Her gentle spirit and compassionate heart were a beacon of light in the lives
of her family and friends.
Born on April 9, 1954 in Sapulpa, OK, Glenda grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and
community. She married James Goodwin on August 31, 1973, and together they built a home
filled with love, laughter, and warmth. As a mother, she nurtured her children with unwavering
love, guiding them with her faith, wisdom, and grace.
Her greatest joy came from her role as Nana. Her "grandbabies," as she affectionately called
them, were the light of her life. Nana loved watching them play basketball and other various
sports. She never missed a game. She showered them with love, imparted wisdom through
stories and hugs, and created cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Her loyalty as a friend was unparalleled; she was always ready with a listening ear, a comforting
word, and a helping hand. She loved her special time with them whether that be shopping,
going to eat, or just enjoying each others company.
She leaves behind her loving husband, James Goodwin, her cherished children, Greg Goodwin
and wife Melissa, and Stephanie Cresswell and husband Jared. Along with her adored
grandchildren,Evan and Ryan Goodwin and Kenneth and Avery Cresswell. She is also survived
by her father, Rev. Charles Buchanan, her dear brother, Chuck Buchanan and wife My, sister in
law, Darlene Bardin, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by her
kindness and love.
Glenda was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Buchanan, Grandparents, Lloyd and
Emma Davis and Wesly and Evelyn Buchanan.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in the beautiful memories she leaves
behind and the legacy of love she created. Glenda’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who
were fortunate to know her.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 10am at Floral Haven.
Rest in peace, dear Glenda. Your love and kindness will forever be our guiding light.
