Mr. Cahalen was an important figure in my life. Hi, I am a librarian at the Oklahoma Library for the Blind, and I just wanted to let the family and loved ones of Glenn Cahalen know what a joy it was to get to speak and deal with Mr. Cahalen over the years. I've been handling Mr. Cahalen's audiobook account with us since 2006, so I've only had the pleasure to know him (even if it was simply by telephone) these past five years. He was always, always an absolute pleasure to speak with whenever he called me, and he never failed to end our conversations with a joke. Those of us at the library who dealt with Mr. Cahalen will miss his cheerfulness and will always remember him. God bless…
Dear Florence, You were like a second family to all the little Corns for many years after Walter Corn passed AWAY IN 1969. All the Cahalen's are very close and dear to me. Forence, I send my condolences to you and your family. From visiting with you as we rode to Central together, I am sure you have many fond memories of your loved ones.
I was fortunate enough to spend some time with Uncle Larry just a few weeks before his passing. He spoke fondly of his family and his work, and mused on his brother and his job. He expressed a good deal of pride and pleasure in the life he had led, which is a good way to feel at the end.I feel so glad to have spent time with him so recently.
Uncle Larry has been such a presence in our lives for so long that it's hard to believe he's no longer with us. We can only be grateful that his struggles are at an end.Our thoughts are with Aunt Florence Janie, Cherie, and the rest of his family.
