Glenn E. Criner's Obituary
Glenn Eugene Criner was born December 25, 1933 in the village of Haskell, Okmulgee Country, Oklahoma. He was the son of Manson Criner and Rosey (Gillispie) Criner. Glenn departed this life December 23, 2014 at the age of 80 years 11 months and 29 days following complications from a sever stroke that occurred on June 18, 2013.As a young man, Glenn was reared on a farm and moved to California after graduating from high school toso he could work in the logging business with his uncle. After moving back to Oklahoma he lived with his parents while he worked on a ranch and in the oil fields. Following his marriage to Allene Gray (his wife of almost 50 years), he became a member of a Truckers Union and drove 18 wheel trucks until his retirement. Glenn was a dedicated husband, worked hard all of his life, and was always willing to help anybody in need.Glenn is survived by his sisters, Patsy Almendariz of Cheney, KS and Joyce Meyers and her husband Johnny of Newalla, OK.; brother, Doyle Criner and his wife Marilyn of Beggs, OK; step daughter, Janelle McDowell and her husband Jim of Tulsa, OK; step son, Ralph Gray of Glenpool, OK; Sixteen step grandchildren; Numerous step great grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Allene Criner; his mother and father, Rosey and Manson; sister, Geraldine Johns; step daughter, Janette Faye Bucktrot; step sons, Philip Dale Gray and Robert (Bobby) Gray, Jr.; step granddaughter, Kasey Dawn Cunningham.The family would like to thank Margie Tolbert (Glenn’s aunt), the doctors, nurses and staff at Parks Edge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center who were so kind in their treatment and care of Glenn following his stroke. We would also like to thank Glenn’s neighbors, Joe & Brenda and Jim & Tammie for their assistance in looking after Glenn’s home property, and Venn Johns, great nephew, who looked after Glenn as his Guardian.
