Glenn Eugene Hime's Obituary
Glenn Eugene Hime, age 92, passed away on August 18, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was born on December 27, 1931, in his home in Augusta, Kansas. Glenn was a beacon of light in many people’s lives, known for his kind heart, readiness to lend a helping hand, and his grace.
On June 25, 1955, Glenn married the love of his life Victoria Hime, known by all as Vicky. Glenn and Vicky went on to create a legacy together. The two spent 66 years in a beautiful marriage until Vicky’s passing in 2021.
A proud United States Navy Veteran, Glenn never enjoyed a sedentary lifestyle and always stayed busy. His determination and dedication were evident in all aspects of his life. He was a trustee and actively involved in his church community, where he made a significant impact.
In his later years, while residing at Prairie House Assisted Living, Glenn earned the affectionate title of “The Mayor of Prairie House.” He cherished making connections with others and helping them in any way he could. Glenn loved participating in activities and was especially known for being the enthusiastic echo caller for bingo.
Glenn’s legacy of kindness, service, and community spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed.
Glenn is preceded in death and joined in Heaven by his wife Vicky Hime; son Gary Hime; parents John Leroy and Rosalie Mildred Hime; and sisters Janice and Dorothy.
He is survived by his children Craig Hime and his wife Susie, Karen Crowley and her husband Terry, Kristi Kargl and her husband Guy; grandchildren Rebecca Jones and her husband Ryan, Eric Hime and his wife Bailey, Blaine Crowley and his wife Amanda, Nathaniel Crowley, Ian Kargl and his wife Kamry, Victoria Kargl, and Braden Kargl; great grandchildren Reid Jones, Rowan Jones, Reagan Jones, Eloise Hime, Boden Hime, and Jack Crowley; along with other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A graveside service will be held at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Randy Shaddock officiating.
