Glenn Marvin Denson's Obituary
Glenn Marvin Denson, child of God, promoted to Glory on June 29, 2016. Born to Tom and Bessie Morrison Denson, in Parsons, Kansas, Labette County, on March 18, 1930. Glenn was a quiet, gentle man, loving husband, daddy, grampa, brother and loyal friend. Soldier of his country, serving in the army during the Korean War, 1951-52, at both Heartbreak and Bloody Ridges. Awarded the Korean Service, Bronze Star, National Defense and United Service Medals. On October 17, 1953, he married Rebekah Mae Burghart. They raised three sons, Michael, Perry and Roger. He was proud of his marriage of nearly 63 years, and his family. He worked for Nelson Electric for 40 years as an electrical wiring inspector/field service representative, traveling to Iran and Arabia oil fields. After retirement in 1992, Glenn worked with Oklahoma Baptist Builders. He and Becky traveled over the state with the group, building churches and remodeling others. He also worked with the Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief team, traveling to Ground Zero after September 11, 2001, in Florida and Belle chase, Louisiana after hurricane Katrina, and to a Colorado wildfire. He was a member of Southwood Baptist Church, serving as usher and on the grounds committee wherever his hands were needed. He loved doing the Lord’s work. Glenn was a builder and craftsman, always planning and new project while working on another. He is survived by his wife, Becky; son, Michael of Tulsa; son, Perry and wife, Danilu of Broken Arrow; son, Roger and wife, Tina of Claremore; grandchildren, Michael Denson, U.S. Navy and wife, Daydra of Belfair, Washington; Tiffany and Andrew Denson, Tulsa; Morgan Denson of Broken Arrow; Quinton Hembree of Owasso; Daniel Lederman and wife, Summer and Corbin Moreland of Claremore; brother, John Denson and wife, Betty of Tulsa; sisters, Juanita and husband, Marlin of Kansas City, Kansas; Mary Dyke of Dennis, Kansas and Betty Racy of Parsons, Kansas; many nieces, nephews and friends. He loved them all. He is preceded in death by a child, his parents, Tom and Bessie Denson and brother, Tommy Joe Denson and brother, Tommy Joe Denson. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Men’s Relief Ministry. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Southwood Baptist Church in Tulsa. Burial will follow the service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Patriot Guard Riders. Pallbearers will be Michael Denson, Andrew Denson, Quinton Hembree, Corbin Moreland, Wayne Racy, Paul Cook and Dwight Farmer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Darrell Albright, Dr. Dan Calhoun, Daniel Lederman, Jerry Miller and Pooch Williams.
