Glenn G. Miller's Obituary
Glenn G. Miller, age 91, passed away on August 3, 2024, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Born on May 8, 1933, in Big Cabin, Oklahoma to his parents Orin and Beulah Breazeale Miller, Glenn was a beloved individual who touched the lives of many.
An Army veteran, Glenn served his country from 1953 to 1956 with decorated honors. He served as Corporal for 16 months in Port of Incheon Korea. On November 30, 1952, he married the love of his life, Betty Jean Miller. Their marriage was a testament to true commitment and love. Glenn’s dedication to Betty was unwavering, especially during her battle with Alzheimer’s. He ensured she could remain at home, cherishing every moment they had together and providing her with exceptional care.
Glenn had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying fishing and traveling. He led his family to explore many places, creating cherished memories along the way. He especially loved the years of camping with his grandchildren and daughters as well as the years of fishing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his younger years, Glenn was an active member of his community, serving as the president of the Jaycees Social Group in Thompson, Georgia and a member of the Elks Lodge in Pryor, Oklahoma. His profession was builder and founder of Miller Homes Inc. in Pryor and surrounding area.
He had a special talent for raising and training dogs, winning the Amateur Bird Dog Champion award. Glenn also had a deep love for Tennessee Walking Horses and animals in general.
Glenn’s legacy is one of love of family and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Miller; his parents; and seven siblings: Theodore Miller, Orville Miller, Agnes Scott, Elsie Freeby, Mildred Griffith, Leon Miller and Herbert Miller. Glenn is survived by his youngest sibling, Archie Miller.
He is survived by his children Cynthia Cardwell and Deborah Grisham and her husband Kerry; grandchildren Landon Cardwell and his wife Angel, and Blake Cardwell; great-grandsons Rylan Cardwell and Keenan Cardwell; great-granddaughter Fei Xue Cardwell; step great grandchildren Alivia Doubrava and Matthew Doubrava.
Viewing will take place on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 4pm-7pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will take place on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 12:30pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Lacey Officiating. Militrary Honors will be rendered to Mr. Glenn Miller as the final part of the service in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
