Gloria "Jeannene" Clift's Obituary
Gloria Jeannene Clift, 87, of Broken Arrow, passed away on Saturday, April 3rd, at her residence in Broken Arrow surrounded by her family. She was born on Feb 28th, 1934 in Washington, IL to Henry Ervin Koppenhoefer and Alma Ruth Edwards. She is survived by her husband, James Lamoin Clift, 3 children, 5 step-children, 16 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.
Jeannene lived an active lifestyle, enjoying such activities as bowling, square dancing, and water aerobics. She also loved traveling, within the US as well as venturing to such international places as the Caribbean, Alaska, Japan, Hawaii, and Italy. She adored being on Oklahoma’s beautiful lakes, partaking in all typical lake activities including camping, water skiing, riding wave runners, and quality boating on the “Clift Craft”.
Jeannene also loved hosting family events, especially Christmas Eve, arranging for Santa to arrive with a sack of gifts to hand out to her grandchildren. She also enjoyed getting dressed up for and hosting/attending Halloween Parties, even taking her children and grandchildren to haunted houses. She loved hosting many other family events, holding Hawaiian Luas any time the opportunity presented itself.
Jeannene was a longtime member of the Northside Christian Church of Broken Arrow and a member of the Bella Sigma Phi sorority. She also donated much of her time to help out on public elections, delivering “Meals on Wheels” to elders, and helping young women in the Mend Medical Clinic and Pregnancy Resource Center.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 8 from 4 pm - 6 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Services will take place at 3pm on Friday, April 9 at the Floral Haven Chapel.
