Gloria Lea Philpott's Obituary
Gloria Lea Haney was born on August 31, 1941, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Louis and Ruby Haney. Gloria passed from this life with the love of family and friends at her home in Jenks, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, November 23, 2014, at the age of 73.Gloria is retired from Jenks Public Schools where she enjoyed many roles, from a teacher’s aid who taught PE to the entire third grade at the same time, to human resources secretary to records manager, with the district.Gloria always viewed her life as an adventure; adventures such as Harley motorcycles to camping, and cross country trucking. She loved square dancing.Her family, especially her grandsons were a major focus of her life. She was very active with their sporting events and their major life happenings.Gloria was proceeded in death by her father, Louis Haney, and John Philpott, Gloria’s husband of 36 years.Gloria is survived by her mother, Ruby Haney, son, Randall Philpott of Jenks, daughter, Suzanne Giddens and her husband, Jeff Giddens of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, sisters, Susie Waggoner of Catoosa, Carrol Wolfe of Kiefer, three grandsons, Jonathan Giddens and his wife Ashley, of Moore, Justin Giddens, of Stillwater, and Jacob Grounds, and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Wednesday, November 26, 2014, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Floral Haven Funeral Home, in Broken Arrow, OklahomaFamily will received friends Wednesday, November 26, 2014, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.A celebration of Gloria’s life will be Friday, November 28, 2014, at 12:30 pm, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
