Gloria Jean Teutsch's Obituary
Gloria Jean (Guss) Teutsch, a resident of Tulsa, passed from this life surrounded by her sons, daughter-in-law and in the mind of many on June 4, 2021, at the age of 68. Gloria was born on February 24, 1953 in Siloam Springs, AR to Elbert and Juanita (Amos) Guss. She was the second of four children. Much of her childhood was spent playing with cousins and her siblings. Gloria earned her LPN certification from NEO in Miami, OK. She returned to Tulsa to start her career as a nurse. While working she married her husband of 41 years, William (Bill) Teutsch. They married and moved to Floresville, TX where their first son, Brian was born and returned to Tulsa to be closer to family. In Tulsa, Bill and Gloria welcomed their second son Zach to their family. She was able to continue her career as a LPN at St. John’s Hospital where she spent over 30 years. She loved being with her family, attending her grandson’s sporting events and spending time coloring with her granddaughter. Family was the most enduring thing in her life. She also enjoyed watching sports, HGTV and reality shows.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Bill and her daddy, Elbert Guss. She is survived by her beloved sons – Brian Teutsch and his wife, Sheri, and Zachary Teutsch; her grandchildren – Riley, Cason and Addison; mother, Juanita Guss; sister, Shirley Clemons and her husband Larry; brother, James Guss; Doug Guss and his partner, Rick Bartholomew; nephews, Scott and Aaron Clemons and Jared Guss; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be open to the public, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 9th at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Visitation Suites in Broken Arrow, OK. Services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 10:00 am at Floral Haven Chapel. Burial will follow the services in Veterans Field of Honor Phase II, Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
