Gordon Ralph Cherry's Obituary
G.R. “Ralph” Cherry passed away July 28th 2018. Ralph was born March 31st, 1931 to Joyce & J. Vinett Cherry in Hinton, OK. Ralph was known by friends and family as “Corky” & “Popa”. He retired after 38 years at American Airlines as a mechanic. He enjoyed ranching, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends telling stories (both true and exaggerated.) He enjoyed watching his grandkids and great-grandkids play sports, teaching them about the outdoors and life in general. He spent many days at the Broken Arrow Senior Center and enjoyed his church, Indian Springs Baptist, where he served his Lord.Ralph and his former wife Tommie Cherry raised three daughters: Beth and husband Drew Lofthus of Eucha, OK; Paula and husband Richard Bennett of Muskogee, OK; Toni and husband Lanny Boyles of Broken Arrow, OK. He also had three grandchildren, Ryan and wife Christie Bennett, Jared and wife Tara Bennett, and Kelly Boyles; as well as 4 great-grandchildren, Peyton, Pearson, Talon and Grace Bennett.Ralph was preceded in death by his brothers Jean Cherry and Jim Cherry, and sister Beth Cherry.Visitation will be August 1, 2018 from 4pm-7pm at Floral Haven.Services will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow on August 2, 2018 at 12:30pm, followed by a reception from 2-4pm at the Family Center.The family is requesting donations be made to Blue Star Mothers of Broken Arrow, OK in lieu of flowers: 918-259-9479.
